A Michigan Medicaid home- and community-based services (HCBS) waiver is designed to offer an alternative to institutionalization to qualifying beneficiaries.

AmeriHealth Caritas VIP Care Plus offers a number of HCBS benefits to all plan members when medically necessary. If you are not a waiver participant, you can receive HCBS waiver benefits through AmeriHealth Caritas VIP Care Plus if they are medically necessary for you. Waiver services include:

• Adult day programs
• Assistive technology
• Chore services
• Environmental modifications
• Expanded community living supports
• Fiscal intermediary services
• Home-delivered meals
• Non-medical transportation
• Preventive nursing services
• Private duty nursing (PDN)
• Respite waiver services
